There will be a strong representation of members of the Methane Guiding Principles at Methane Mitigation Europe, which takes place in Amsterdam from March 27-29. This year there has been a proactive shift in the focus from ‘detect and repair’ to ‘predicting and preventing’ methane emissions.
Ewan McKenzie, Climate Director at Ipieca, is attending on behalf of the Methane Guiding Principles and will be speaking in the following sessions:
Day 1: 8:40am Navigating the Regulatory Landscape: Next Steps and Opportunities for the Oil and Gas Industry
Day 2: 1:50pm Methane Guiding Principles: Practical Tools, Guidance and Lessons from Experience
MGP signatories and supporting organizations will also be participating, including bp, Enagás, Eni, Equinor, GRTgaz, OGCI, Repsol, TotalEnergies, UNEP and Wintershall Dea.
With the EU Commission presenting a proposal on methane reduction, there has never been a more critical time for oil and gas companies to come together in initiatives such as the Methane Guiding Principles and discuss how to drive down emissions.
